At Vivid Windows, we believe that energy efficiency and architectural beauty shouldn’t be mutually exclusive. Our recent Bathurst Warehouse project perfectly demonstrates this philosophy, showcasing how modern glazing solutions can enhance both the aesthetic appeal and environmental performance of commercial buildings.
When we were approached for the Bathurst Warehouse project, the client had clear requirements that presented an exciting challenge. They needed a window system that would not only meet stringent energy efficiency requirements but also maintain the aesthetic integrity of their modern commercial complex. The goal was to create a space that would be both visually striking and environmentally responsible.
Commercial buildings face unique challenges when it comes to glazing solutions. They require systems that can handle high traffic areas, provide excellent thermal performance, and contribute to reduced energy costs while maintaining an attractive appearance that enhances the overall architectural design.
After careful consideration of the project requirements, we selected the Alspec Eco 101 Centre Pocket framing system as the foundation of our solution. This choice wasn’t arbitrary – the Eco 101 system represents the cutting edge of commercial framing technology, offering exceptional structural integrity while maintaining slim sightlines that maximize natural light penetration.
The real star of this installation, however, is the Viridian LightBridge™ Grey double glazing. This sophisticated glazing solution features a specialized Low-E coating that provides multiple benefits:
The Low-E coating significantly reduces heat transfer through the glass, helping to maintain comfortable interior temperatures year-round. This means lower heating costs in winter and reduced cooling requirements in summer, contributing to substantial energy savings over the lifetime of the building.
Despite its energy-efficient properties, LightBridge™ technology doesn’t compromise on natural light. The glazing allows generous amounts of daylight to flood the interior spaces, creating a bright, welcoming environment that enhances productivity and reduces the need for artificial lighting during daylight hours.
The grey tint provides mid-range solar control, striking an exemplary balance between high insulation and clarity. This means occupants enjoy protection from harsh glare and excessive heat gain without feeling disconnected from the outdoor environment.
One of the aspects we’re particularly proud of with this project is that all units were fabricated locally in our Mildura facility. This local production approach offers several advantages:
In commercial construction, compliance with Australian standards isn’t just important – it’s essential. The Bathurst Warehouse glazing system fully complies with:
This comprehensive compliance means building owners and occupants can have complete confidence in the safety, durability, and performance of their glazing system.
The completed Bathurst Warehouse stands as a testament to what’s possible when cutting-edge glazing technology meets thoughtful design and expert installation. The building now enjoys:
This project exemplifies our commitment to delivering glazing
